Krefeld/Vadodara. On 11 April 2018, in an official inauguration ceremony, the new production hall at Küsters Calico Machinery Pvt. Ltd. in Vadodara was inaugurated. The Indian subsidiary of the Kleinewefers-Jagenberg Group had invited nearly 300 guests to this event, including high-ranking politicians and famous personalities from the Indian business world, as well as friends of the company.
Küsters Calico produces textile machinery for woven and knitted goods, and film coating and laminating equipment. The new production hall, which, among other things, offers space for a new, state-of-the-art CNC tooling machine, and with a size of almost 2,500 m2, represents a 33% expansion of the original production capacity. From now on, particularly critical components for the sophisticated special machines can be finished in house and production processes optimised. The investment is an important building block in the future strategy of the corporate group and a further declaration of belief by Jagenberg in its Indian subsidiary. Just at the beginning of February 2018, through the acquisition of the 26% stake previously held by joint venture partner Calico, Jagenberg AG became the sole shareholder of Küsters Calico Machinery.“Our Vadodara subsidiary should have lasting growth,” explained Dr Bröker, Chairman of Jagenberg AG. “Following the increase in shareholding to 100%, recent months have been characterised by a comprehensive investment programme: We have introduced a powerful ERP system with SAP Business One, have bought or generally overhauled production machinery and have initiated extensive construction works.” Adding: “The completion of the new hall marks a significant milestone in the firm’s broad-based modernisation process. It is our goal to build up Küsters Calico into a strategic platform for further areas of business within the group of companies.”
